At Pinpoint, we respect your right to control your personal data. This page explains what data we collect, how to request deletion, and what happens when you delete your data.

What Data We Collect

Pinpoint collects minimal data to provide online multiplayer functionality:

  • Anonymous User ID: A unique identifier created by Firebase Authentication
  • Display Name: The name you choose for online play
  • Game Statistics: Your scores, wins, and leaderboard rankings
  • Gameplay Data: Temporary game state data during active multiplayer sessions

We do NOT collect:

  • Email addresses
  • Phone numbers
  • Real names
  • Physical addresses
  • Payment information (handled by Google Play)

Automatic Data Deletion

Most of your data is automatically deleted:

  • Game Session Data: Deleted immediately when you leave a multiplayer game
  • Anonymous Authentication: Cleared when you clear your browser data or uninstall the app
  • Temporary Room Data: Automatically removed after games end

How to Delete Your Data

Option 1: Clear Browser Data (Web Version)

For the web version at pinpoint.click:

  1. Open your browser settings
  2. Go to Privacy & Security
  3. Select "Clear browsing data" or "Clear cookies and site data"
  4. Choose "All time" as the time range
  5. Make sure "Cookies and other site data" is checked
  6. Click "Clear data"

This will remove your anonymous authentication and local game data.

Option 2: Uninstall App (Android Version)

For the Android app:

  1. Go to your device Settings
  2. Select "Apps" or "Applications"
  3. Find and select "Pinpoint"
  4. Tap "Uninstall"

This will remove all local data and your anonymous authentication.

Option 3: Request Complete Data Deletion

To request deletion of all your data from our servers, including leaderboard entries:

  1. Send an email to: support@paxes.co.uk
  2. Include "Data Deletion Request" in the subject line
  3. Provide your display name (if you remember it)
  4. Optionally include your approximate last play date

We will process your request within 30 days and confirm deletion via email.

What Gets Deleted

When you request data deletion, we will remove:

  • Your anonymous user ID from our authentication system
  • Your display name
  • All your game statistics and scores
  • Your leaderboard entries
  • Any active game session data

What Cannot Be Deleted

Some data may be retained for legal or technical reasons:

  • Aggregated Analytics: Anonymous usage statistics that cannot be linked back to you
  • Legal Records: Data required for legal compliance or dispute resolution
  • Backup Data: May persist in backups for up to 90 days before permanent deletion

After Deletion

Once your data is deleted:

  • You can still play the game, but you'll start fresh
  • Your leaderboard rankings will be removed
  • You'll need to choose a new display name for online play
  • Previous game history will not be recoverable

Facebook Platform Users

If you're playing through Facebook Instant Games:

  • You can delete your data using the methods above
  • You can also manage your data through Facebook's settings
  • Removing the app from Facebook will also delete associated data

Data Retention Policy

We retain your data only as long as necessary:

  • Active Users: Data retained while you actively play
  • Inactive Users: Leaderboard data may be archived after 12 months of inactivity
  • Deleted Accounts: Permanently removed within 30 days of deletion request
