1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Pinpoint ("the Game"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Game.

2. Description of Service

Pinpoint is a strategic board game available on web browsers and Android devices. The Game offers:

  • Single-player gameplay against AI opponents
  • Local multiplayer on the same device
  • Online multiplayer with real-time gameplay
  • Cross-platform play between web and Android
  • Leaderboards and competitive features

3. User Accounts and Authentication

When you play online multiplayer, we use Firebase Anonymous Authentication to create a temporary account. You are responsible for:

  • Choosing an appropriate display name
  • Your conduct during online gameplay
  • Maintaining the security of your device

4. User Conduct

You agree NOT to:

  • Use offensive, inappropriate, or abusive language in your display name
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other players
  • Cheat, exploit bugs, or use unauthorized third-party software
  • Attempt to hack, disrupt, or damage the Game or its servers
  • Impersonate other players or developers
  • Share or distribute malicious content
  • Use the Game for any illegal purposes

We reserve the right to remove players who violate these rules.

5. Intellectual Property

All content in Pinpoint, including but not limited to game design, graphics, code, text, and audio, is owned by Paxes or its licensors and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or distribute the Game or its content
  • Reverse engineer or decompile the Game
  • Create derivative works based on the Game
  • Use the Game's assets in other projects without permission

6. Advertising

The Game displays advertisements through different ad networks depending on the platform:

  • Web Version: Google AdSense
  • Facebook Instant Games: Facebook Audience Network
  • Android App: Google AdMob

By using the Game, you agree to view these advertisements. Ad-free versions may be available through in-app purchases on supported platforms.

7. In-App Purchases

The Android version may offer in-app purchases for features such as:

  • Ad removal
  • Undo credits
  • Premium features

All purchases are final and non-refundable except as required by law. Purchases are processed through Google Play Store and are subject to Google's terms and policies.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE GAME IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT:

  • The Game will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Defects will be corrected
  • The Game is free of viruses or harmful components
  • Online multiplayer will always be available

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM:

  • Your use or inability to use the Game
  • Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers
  • Any interruption or cessation of the Game
  • Any bugs, viruses, or other harmful code
  • Any errors or omissions in content
  • Any conduct or content of third parties using the Game

10. Changes to the Game

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify, suspend, or discontinue the Game at any time
  • Change game rules, features, or content
  • Update these Terms of Service
  • Remove or reset leaderboards and player data

We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Game immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including but not limited to breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Game will immediately cease.

12. Third-Party Services

The Game uses third-party services including:

  • Google Firebase: For authentication and real-time multiplayer
  • Google AdSense: For advertising on web version
  • Facebook Audience Network: For advertising on Facebook Instant Games
  • Facebook Platform: For Facebook Instant Games functionality
  • Google AdMob: For advertising on Android app
  • Google Play Services: For Android features

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and policies.

13. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

14. Children's Privacy

The Game is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use the Game or provide any information.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

16. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Game shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with UK law, except where prohibited by law.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

18. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Game after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

20. Entire Agreement
